The current apps are Windows programs, with the main executable on the internal computer drive and content on supported directly attached NTFS USB storage. Network drives and cloud-synced locations do not meet that boundary. A USB connection alone does not certify a device as safe. Leave room for more than originals容量不只按原件计算
Plan space for encrypted imported copies, editing projects, temporary content caches, new edited copies and finished exports. A same-drive backup needs additional space and does not protect against losing that drive. Large video edits and document conversions may temporarily need more space than their final result. Inspect the drive's properties to confirm its filesystem. If it is not supported, stop and make verified independent copies before considering changes. Formatting can destroy existing data; do not follow a guide that tells you to format your only copy just to test software. Record which physical drive and cable you tested.
